IDXChannel - Indonesia and Australia further strengthened energy transition cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/7/2024).
David Fredericks, Secretary of the Australian Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment & Water (DCCEEW) and Dadan Kusdiana, Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) signed the MoU.
“In collaboration, we will work together to share knowledge and best practice approaches to tackle key issues in the energy transition and to achieve net zero,” Fredericks said in a media release.
Fredericks said this MOU deepens the partnership between Australia and Indonesia, building on both countries’ comparative advantages, to support the energy transition and promote investment in energy infrastructure and clean energy manufacturing.
The Australian Embassy will work with ESDM to identify opportunities for collaboration with a focus on renewable energy grid integration, energy efficiency and clean energy supply chains.
