IDXChannel - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that Indonesia will be the 3rd major player in the world in terms of electric vehicle battery production (Electric Vehicle).
This is supported by the signing of the construction of electric vehicle batteries between CATL and the state-owned holding of the Mining Industry MIND ID a few days ago.
"We have reported Mr. President and all. We have entered the bar era of building an ecosystem in lithium batteries and EVs," said Coordinating Minister Marves, Luhut.
If the development of electric batteries through the construction of factories is already underway, Luhut stated that Indonesia will start producing the first electric vehicle batteries between 2025 and in 2027 it is predicted that Indonesia will become one of the top three world players producing electric vehicle batteries.
"Our first battery production is in 2025 and in 2027 we will be one of the world's top three that produce EV batteries," said Luhut.
