"I have been doing business with Indonesia for over 40 years and have always been satisfied with the quality of Indonesian timber," Timber Development UK Chairman Chris Sutton said.
Meanwhile, EFECA Managing Director Emily Fripp, noted that the business sector is still awaiting updates on the UK government's policy regarding UK Forest Risk Commodities, which is currently under internal discussion.
"However, I am confident that this policy will not significantly impact timber products from Indonesia," FRipp said.
In December 2022, Indonesia updated its SVLK system to enhance transparency and traceability by utilizing information technology and geolocation.
