IDXChannel – Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said that as many as 44 million people will travel during this years Christmas and New Year holiday periods.
He said, private cars and motorcycles will be mostly used by travellers. Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said that as many as 16 percent or 44 million citizens will travel during the 2022-2023 Christmas and New Year holiday periods.
“From the survey, there are 16 percent or 44 million people who will be going home, of course very many, (using) the most private cars and motorbikes, for travelers who use motorbikes I ask all stakeholders, especially the National Police, to heed the call not to go home with a motorbike because it is relatively less safe. Trains, buses, planes, crossing boats are options, hopefully we can serve them well,” he said.
