IDXChannel - The Indonesian government has called on the relevant parties to maintain the security and safety of the Syrian people.
This was in response to the fall of the Syrian government led by President Bashar al-Assad, which collapsed last week.
"Indonesia respects the territorial integrity of Syria and hopes that the Syrian people can start a new and better life," Indonesian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anis Matta, said in a statement on Tuesday (10/12/2024).
The Indonesian government is closely monitoring developments in Syria. It is very concerned about the impact of the crisis on regional security.
"The crisis in Syria can only be resolved through a comprehensive, democratic, and peaceful transition process that prioritizes the interests and safety of the Syrian people, while maintaining Syria's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity," the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Sunday night.
