IDXChannel - The KRI Bima Suci-945, the Indonesian Navy's sail training ship, arrived in Manila this week to participate in the celebrations of 75 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the Philippines.
From 15-18 October 2024, KRI Bima Suci will conduct a Goodwill Visit in Manila and conduct a series of activities such as drum bands, cultural carnival, art performances, and cocktail reception.
Indonesian Ambassador to the Philippines, Lieutenant General (Ret) Agus Widjojo said KRI Bima Suci plays an important role in supporting Indonesia's diplomatic mission.
“Because it is known as the Floating Ambassador of Goodwill which sails and visits ports around the world,” Agus said in a press release from the Indonesian Embassy in Manila.
Agus also said that KRI Bima Suci plays a role in promoting Indonesian culture to the international community. Thus, this ship is a strategic tool in strengthening friendship between Indonesia and other countries.
