IDXChannel - Indonesian Defense Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto met with United States (US) Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Jordan on Monday (11/6/2024).
The two ministers discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the US-backed ceasefire plan in Gaza.
"Secretary Blinken congratulated Defense Minister Subianto again for his victory in Indonesia’s recent elections and reiterated the United States’ commitment to implementing the U.S.-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," the US Department of State said in a media release.
The two ministers held a meeting on the sidelines of the “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza” Conference , hosted by Jordan.
"The Secretary thanked the Defense Minister for Indonesia’s support for the proposal to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and secure the release of all hostages," the Department of said.
