IDXChannel - Bank Indonesia (BI) has again raised the BI benchmark interest rate or BI-7Day Reverse Repo Rate (BI7DRR) by 25 basis points to 5.75 percent.
The decision was taken based on the Board of Governors Meeting on January 18-19, 2023. This announcement was made directly by the Governor of BI, Perry Warjiyo.
In addition, Perry also said that natural deposit facilities increased by 25 bps to 5 percent and lending facilities increased by 25 bps to 6.5 percent.
The current interest rate hike by Bank Indonesia is a follow-up step for front loaded, pre-emptive, and forward-looking in order to lower inflation expectations.
