IDXChannel - Indonesia’s National Food Agency (Bapanas) has prepared 100 thousand tons of beef and 100 thousand tons of imported buffalo meat to maintain supplies during Ramadan and Eid holidays this year.
According to Bapanas Head, Arief Prasetyo Adi, in the near future, 17 thousand tons of buffalo meat from India will begin to be imported.
"Later, if Bulog’s buffalo meat has entered Tanjung Priok Port I will inform you. In the near future, 17 thousand tons of buffalo meat will enter Indonesia,” Arief told reporters at the Bapanas office in Jakarta on Monday (27/3/2023) evening.
“We will ensure that the stock is available. Importing from India is indeed faster," Arief added.
Meanwhile for beef, he explained, currently it is still on its way to arrive in Indonesia. Considering that the imported beef is from Brazil, it takes quite a long time to arrive, approximately three months.
