IDXChannel – Bank Indonesia is optimistic that Indonesia economic growth will remain stable and remain biased upwards within the projection range at 4,2 to 5,3 percent for 2022.
Governor of Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo said that this optimism was supported by several factors. Among other things Indonesia economic performance continued ro strengthen in the third quarter of 2022 with growth of 5,72 percent, higher than the forecast and the previous quarter achievement of 5,45 percent on an annual basis supported by continued improvement in domestic demand and continued high export performance.
Moreover, various indicator in October 2022 and the results of the lastest Bank Indonesia survey such as consumer confidence retail sales and the manufacturing purchasing managers index indicate that the domestic economic recovery process is continuing.
“With these developments, economic growth in 2022 is predicted to remain biased upwards within the projection range of Bank Indonesia at 4.5 - 5.3 percent. Economic growth in 2023 is predicted to remain high, driven by domestic demand and positive export performance amidst the risk of a deepening global economic slowdown.”
