IDXChannel - Indonesia and New Zealand have discussed progress towards achieving the bilateral trade goal of RP40 trillion or NZD4 billion by the end of 2024.
New Zealand's Foreign Minister Winston Peters held talks with Indonesia’s Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto during his visit to Jakarta this week.
“We look forward to signing an agreement for mutual recognition of halal products during Minister Marsudi’s upcoming visit to New Zealand," Peters stated in a media releas, Thursday (14/3/2024).
"This will provide assurance for Indonesian consumers and New Zealand dairy and meat exporters, for whom Indonesia is an important market for halal products”," he added.
Peters' visit builds on other high-level engagement between Indonesia and New Zealand under the current government, following Vice-President Ma’Aruf Amin’s visit to New Zealand and President Joko Widodo's meeting with Prime Minister Christopher Luxon in Melbourne last month.
