IDXChannel - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced that Indonesia's trade balance in March 2023 recorded a surplus of USD 2.91 billion. Indonesia's trade balance achieved a 35th consecutive monthly surplus.
"However, the March 2023 surplus is weaker compared to the previous month, and lower than March 2022," said BPS Deputy for Methodology and Statistical Information Imam Machdi in an official release on Monday (17/4/2023).
According to the BPS, the non-oil and gas trade balance recorded a surplus of USD4.58 billion, while the oil and gas trade balance posted a deficit of USD1.68 billion.
Previously, Indonesia's export value in March 2023 reached USD23.50 billion, an increase of 9.89 percent (mtm) compared to exports in February 2023.
Compared to March 2022, the export value decreased by 11.33 percent (yoy).
"Cumulatively, Indonesia's export value from January to March 2023 reached USD67.20 billion, up 1.60 percent compared to the same period in 2022," said Imam.
