IDXChannel – The Government wants to increase added value for the domestic economy this policy was carried out with several considerations.
First, the government wants to increase added value for the domestic economy. Second, increase the creation of new jobs. Third increase foreign exchange earnings. Fourth, creating a more equitable economic growth in Indonesia.
In a press conference in Jakarta, President Joko Widodo said the export ban was carried out by taking into account the benefits of the nickel export ban policy, that the government began implementing in January 2020, which provided major benefit to the domestic economy.
“I repeat, starting in June 2023 the government will impose a ban on bauxite ore exports and encourage the domestic bauxite processing and refining industry. From the industrialization of bauxite in the country, we estimate state revenue will increase from IDR 21 trillion to around IDR 62 trillion. The government will continue to consistently carry out domestic downstreaming, so that added value is enjoyed domestically for the progress and welfare of the people,” he said.
