IDXChannel – Indonesia’s annual inflation rate reached 4.97 persen year-on-year (yoy) in March 2023, according the latest data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released today.
On a month-to-month (mtm) basis, inflation rate was 0.18 percent in March 2023. From January 2023 until March 2023, the country’s year-to-date (ytd) inflation reached 0.68 percent.
"In March 2023, there was year on year (yoy) inflation of 4.97% with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.36," said BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics Pudji Ismartini in Jakarta on Monday (3/4) /2023).
The March 2023 monthly inflation rate was lower than the same month last year.
The largest inflation was recorded by the transportation sector with inflation of 0.54 percent. The food, beverages and tobacco sector was in the second position with inflation of 0.35 percent.
Consumer price index (CPI) inflation in 48 cities was higher than national inflation. BPS noted that 65 cities experienced inflation, while 25 cities experienced deflation.
