IDXChannel - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked the industry in the financial services sector to maintain the momentum of national economic growth in 2023.
This was conveyed by the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Mahendra Siregar after meeting Jokowi today, Monday, January 16, 2023. As for 2023, it is predicted that there will be many challenges, one of which is the recession that occurs in various countries. In 2022, it was recorded that indonesia's economic growth was quartile.
"Mr. president gave a very clear direction that we should be able to maintain the momentum of strengthening economic growth from 2022 to the future. And from various lessons on how to solve the challenges of severe challenges in this pandemic to be implemented even stronger in the future," said Mahendra.
Mahendra said, with the learning from previous challenges such as the pandemic and uncertainty in 2022, the President requested
"There is no reason for us not to be optimistic about 2023. Although of course synergy, coordination, cooperation and joint efforts of both our Government in this regard, regulators in the financial services sector and synergize with related K/L including KSSK members," he said.
Mahendra said that the meeting was also attended by Coordinating Minister for The Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati. It was also attended by all leaders of associations and industries in the financial services sector.
