IDXChannel - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono, has informed that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) may move to Indonesia's new capital (IKN) Nusantara in September 2024.
"Once the IKN airport operates in the first week of September, the President will move there," he said on Friday.
The minister added that he will check the progress of the airport runway this week. Currently, the construction of the runway has reached 1,100 meters of the temporary target of 2,200 meters.
"We will review the airport tomorrow. If the weather is conducive, the construction of the 2,200-meter runway is expected to be completed on September 2 (2024). Once the runway is finished, the lights will be installed," he informed.
According to him, the IKN Airport is targeted to start operations in the first week of September.
