IDXChannel - The United States has committed to enhance its cooperation on energy transition and energy security with Japan.
According to data released by International Energy Agency (IEA), around 40 percent of global growth in energy demand will come from the Asia-Pacific region by 2050.
"How our two countries invest now in meeting our energy needs is going to impact the world for literally decades to come," said US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey R Pyatt in a digital press briefing on Friday (13/10/2023).
"We’ve been working very closely with Japan in a variety of fora – the Indo-Pacific quad, G7, G20, the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework," he added.
Next week, the US-Japan Energy Security Dialogue will be held at Harvard University's Hoover Institution in Palo Alto, California.
