IDXChannel - International visitor arrivals in Indonesia stood at 1.13 million in August 2023, according to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).
The number of international visitors rose by 68.92 percent compared with August 2022 (year-on-year) and slightly increased by 1.02 percent compared with July 2023 (month-to-month).
"International arrivals in August 2023 were dominated by visitors from Malaysia (15.43 percent), Australia (11.39 percent), and Singapore (9.31 percent)," BPS stated in a media release on Monday (2/10/2023).
Cumulatively, the international visitor arrivals from January to August 2023 also increased by 166.12 percent compared with 2022. This increase in international visitors was mainly recorded at Ngurah Rai Airport-Bali and Soekarno Hatta Airport-Banten, which increased by 280.74 percent and 158.64 percent, respectively.
The room occupancy rate of classified hotels in August 2023 was 52.46 percent, which increased by 5.08 percentage points (year-on-year) but decreased by 2.17 percentage points (month-to-month).
Meanwhile, the room occupancy rate of non-classified hotels was 25.48 percent, which increased by 1.79 percentage points (year-on-year) but slightly decreased by 0.26 percentage points (month-to-month).
Lastly, the average length of stay at classified hotels was 1.68 days, scaled up by 0.02 points compared with the previous year. (WHY)
