"The relationship between Indonesia and Vietnam has experienced rapid development over the past seven decades. The strong cooperation between the two countries is also reflected in the establishment of a strategic partnership in their bilateral relations in 2013. This makes Vietnam the only country in the region with a strategic partnership level with Indonesia," the Ministry stated.
In the field of trade, the transaction value between the two countries has doubled in the past five years, reaching more than USD16 billion in 2024. Both countries have set a target to reach a trade value of USD18 billion by 2028.
Regarding investment, Indonesia has 123 investment projects in Vietnam, with a total value of more than USD680 million, placing Indonesia in 29th place among 143 countries investing in Vietnam. Meanwhile, Vietnamese investment in Indonesia has also increased, with the establishment of the VinFast electric car factory worth more than USD1 billion in July 2024. (Wahyu Dwi Anggoro)
