IDXChannel – The Minister of Investment has informed the reason Softbank Group canceled its investment in the Nusantara City Project. The Reason was that Indonesia wanted a fair investment model, between the state and investors.
The Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia said cited the example of an offer submitted by Softbank, in which it sought to determine the internal rate return. The Minister that Softbank Founder and CEO Masayoshi Son had met with President Joko Widodo. During working meeting with commission six of the house of representative, he also admitted that he had approached the billionaire several times.
“Indeed, the CEO of Softbank has met with the President, and many times I have joined him for the approach. In our opinion, the proposals offered are profitable for them, but not for the state. We don't want to be dictated to. For example, they determine their own IRR, then we rent it to them, that's not fair. So, we are looking for a fair investment model, which means it is profitable for investors and the country, win-win,” Bahlil said.
