IDXChannel - Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno has urged G20 member countries to help end the crisis in Gaza. She called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire.

She attended the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Brazil on Wednesday (21/2/2024). She raised the issue of Gaza during the first session of the meeting.

"I urged G20 to act now to end the crisis in Gaza," she stated on her official x account.

According to Retno, all United Nations (UN) Security Council permanent members are also G20 members. She also encouraged the international community to increase support for Palestine.

In Rio de Janeiro, Retno also chaired MIKTA Foreign Ministers' Meeting. She underlined the importance of MIKTA's role as middle powers.
