IDXChannel - The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo held the Indonesia-Japan Friendship Day (IJFD) program in Ishikawa Prefecture on 22-24 March.
"The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo stands ready to provide protection and services for Indonesian citizens in Japan, including in disaster-affected areas," stated Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Heri Akhmadi in a media release on Monday (25/3/2024).
As part of the program, the embassy provided consular and other services for Indonesian citizens in Ishikawa on Sunday. The services provided to Indonesian citizens aim to ensure that those affected by the earthquake in the Ishikawa area, including Noto Peninsula and its surroundings, receive adequate consular services. A total of 186 Indonesian citizens, mostly Seafarers (ABK), received passport services, seafarer books, as well as consular and customs consultations.
"Specifically to my seafarers friends, I advise you to understand the existing legal rights and obligations, examine and understand the contract well, obey the laws in Japan, work hard, diligently, and adapt well, and don't forget to report (lapor diri) to the Embassy," Ambassador Heri advised during his visit to Ishikawa.
In a meeting with Indonesian seafarers in the Ishikawa Prefecture Fisheries Co-operative Association on Saturday, Indonesian Embassy also conducted briefings to update the seafareres on the latest regulations related to customs.
