IDXChannel – The government that the increase in tobacco or cigarette excise rates will take effect as of January 1st – 2023. This excise tax adjustment is for two years at onece namely 2023 and 2024 with an average increase of 10 percent.
The government ensure that the increase in tobacco excise or cigarette excise rates will remain in effect as of January 1,2023. This excise tax adjusmnet is for two years at onece, namely 2023 and 2024 with an average increase of 10 percent. The policy to increase cigarette excise rates is contained in a minister of finance regulation.
“We can see that our excise revenue has increased and the state budget is always targeting a consistent increase. For example, in 2022 it will reach Rp. 216 trillion and this has increased quite significantly from Rp. 188 trillion in 2021,” Sri Mulyani said.
