IDXChannel - The Ministry of Finance allocates the social protection budget in the 2023 State Budget (APBN) of Rp476 trillion. The budget is to provide protection to the poor and vulnerable.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, said the allocation of the social protection budget was used to provide tangible results in poverty alleviation efforts.
"He explained that the amount of the social protection budget in 2023 is not much different when compared to 2022. However, this year has a different component when compared to the previous year," she said.
According to him, conditions in 2022 Indonesia is still facing the condition of a disease pandemic due to the spread of Covid-19, plus a number of shocks such as fluctuations in cooking oil prices in the country. Last year there were a number of social assistance distributed such as cooking oil assistance, wage subsidy assistance, street vendor assistance. The assistance program will be adjusted in 2023.
"In 2022, it is indeed a pandemic situation and there are shocks such as the price of cooking oil. So there are some budgets not passed on. The program will be redesigned, depending on the ministries and agencies," said Sri Mulyani.
On that occasion, Sri Mulyani together with Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini met the Beneficiary Families (KPM) of a number of programs of the Ministry of Social Affairs. The assistance that has been distributed by the government, has a big impact on the KPM. "Hopefully it won't be corrupted," Sri Mulyani said.
