IDXChannel - Indonesia is exploring cooperation in the trade sector with Malaysia, expecially collaborations in border areas between the two countries.
Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan held a bilateral meeting with his Malaysian counterpart Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Bin Tengku Abdul Aziz on the sidelines of the 42nd ASEAN Summit 2023 in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, this week.
According to Zulhas, the two countries need to increase cooperation, especially through the implementation of the Indonesia-Malaysia Joint Trade and Investment Committee (JTIC).
"We want the 4th Ministerial-level JTIC meeting to be held in the middle of this year, to explore trade and investment cooperation opportunities in various sectors," he explained in a press statement on Thursday (11/5/2023).
In addition, the two ministers also discussed a number of new cooperation opportunities, including in digital trade, halal food, and healthy food sectors.
