IDXChannel – Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati optimistic that Indonesia will not entered a recession in 2023. Sri Mulyani admitted that she was very optimistic that the Indonesian economy would be fine.
He referred to the predictions of the International Monetary Fund or IMF which has just issued predictions for the world economy.
"The IMF has just issued a prediction that one-third of the world economy will likely be hit by a recession. We are not among the third, God willing, we will keep it going," said Sri Mulyani.
Previously, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on January 1, 2023, again warned most of the global economy about recession. She said 2023 will be a difficult year as the main engines of global growth - the United States, Europe and China - experience weakening activity.
Sri Mulyani thinks 2023 is a very interesting year and has many challenges. Moreover, this year we have a political agenda in the country, namely towards the 2024 elections. "So definitely the temperature will rise a little bit," he said. Plus the challenges of the global economy are also remarkable.
