IDXChannel - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially unveiled the logo of Nusantara Capital City (IKN) on Tuesday evening. He emphasized that the winner was chosen directly by Indonesian people through online voting.
"The logo with the most votes was chosen. So it was not picked by the president but the people," Jokowi said in his remarks at the State Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (30/5/2023).
The winner got five hundred thousand votes. It was not a small number," Jokowi added.
Jokowi also hopes that the Pohon Hayat (Tree of Life) can inspire to create a new place of life, which will become a source of life for all Indonesian people in the future.
According to him, the philosophy behind the Tree of Life logo is in line with the spirit of the IKN development, namely fostering a sense of pride as a big country.
