Japanese Investor Keen to Help Develop Fisheries Sector in Maluku

IDXChannel - Sushi Zanmai Japan CEO Kiyoshi Kimura has expressed his keenness to help develop fisheries sector in Indonesia's Maluku Province.

During a meeting with Maluku's fish exporters, PT Harta Samudera, in Ambon on Thursday (13/6/2024), Sushi Zanmai offered to create a joint venture and send fish collector vessels with the capacity of 19 to 300 tons. The vessel is expected to be able to assist a more effective and efficient fish captures. 

"We will support the increase of Maluku's tuna exports to Japan," Kimura said in a media release.

"We are ready to accept Indonesian fisheries workers to be trained," he added.

The meeting was facilitated by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).  It was part of the sustainable fisheries programs organised by the participants of Mid-Career Diplomatic Training (Sesdilu) Batch 76. 

 "MoFA stand ready to guard the materialisation from the business deal by Sushi Zanmai in Maluku in order to increase fish export volume to East Asia market ," the Head of MoFA's Education and Training Center, Ambassador Mohammad K Koba stated.
